PACCAR MX (2004 Emissions) Fault Code: P1040 Exhaust Gas Pressure after BPV – Data Valid but Too Low

SET CONDITIONS:
The DTC is set if the pressure after BPV corrected for the ambient pressure is lower than the threshold which is based on the exhaust gas mass flow.

DIAGNOSTIC CONDITION:
1. The diagnostic runs if all the conditions mentioned in this chapter are met.
2. The air pressure sensor after BPV is fitted.
3. EGR and BPV are controlled normally.
4. No faults present on the pressure sensor after BPV, ambient pressure sensor, pressure sensor before turbine
5. Exhaust gas flow rate > 250 g/s
6. Time since engine start > 60 seconds

CORRESPONDING OBD READINESS MONITOR:
None

RESET CONDITION:
This DTC changes to inactive when the fault is no longer detected.

REPAIR VERIFICATION:
1. Clear all DTCs.
2. Test drive or operate the vehicle to meet the diagnostic conditions and set conditions.
3. Did the DTC come back? (Can be pending, inactive or active)
– No, repair successful
– Yes, repair unsuccessful
