PACCAR MX (2004 Emissions) Fault Code: P101F BPV Actuator Current – Data Valid but Too High

SET CONDITIONS:
The BPV valve (L096) detects that the measured actuator current is greater than a temperature-dependent value for more than 6 seconds.

DIAGNOSTIC CONDITION:
This diagnostic runs continuously when the ignition is on.

CORRESPONDING OBD READINESS MONITOR:
None

RESET CONDITION:
This DTC changes to inactive as soon as the error is no longer detected.

REPAIR VERIFICATION:
1. Clear all DTCs.
2. Test drive or operate the vehicle to meet the diagnostic conditions and set conditions.
3. Did the DTC come back?
– No, repair successful
– Yes, repair unsuccessful

POSSIBLE CAUSES:
1. Sticking or blocked BPV valve or mechanism
2. High friction of the BPV valve bearings or mechanism in combination with a high actuator temperature

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
1. The actuator motor torque is reduced with this fault active. Under certain circumstances, this can result in the actuator being unable to reach the target position and P101E also becoming active.

2. Engine torque is reduced with this fault active.
