Verify the electronic control module (ECM) calibration is correct. Check the calibration revision history found on QuickServe® Online for applicable fixes to the calibration stored in the ECM. If necessary, calibrate the ECM. Use the corresponding Troubleshooting and Repair Manual for the engine being serviced.
Possible causes:
1)EGR valve position sensor wiring shorted to ground, open circuit, or shorted to power supply
2)Loss of the EGR valve position sensor supply voltage or the ground circuit.
3)Fuel Injector wiring harness shorted to ground, open circuit, or shorted to power supply.
Possible repairs:
1)Replace the ECM.
2)Replace the engine harness.
3)Replace the EGR valve motor.
