DESCRIPTION:
This code sets once the motor control module (MCM) detects that the outlet coolant temperature is above 112°C (234°F).
MONITORED PARAMETER:
Engine coolant outlet temperature sensor.

Always enabled

None
EXECUTION FREQUENCY:
Always enabled
TYPICAL DURATION:
Two seconds
DASH LAMPS:
1. MIL
2. CEL
VERIFICATION:
Outlet coolant temperature above 112°C (234°F) followed by one minute of idling.
NOTE:If codes 110-3 or 110-4 also active, fix those first.
NOTE: With a code engine, coolant inlet and coolant outlet temperature should be within 25 degree’s of each other. If not, replace both sensors.
Otherwise, most PROBABLE CAUSES:
1. Low coolant.
2. Thermostat failure.
3. Blockage in radiator and/or charge air cooler.
4. Fan belt failure.
5. Fan shroud failure or installed improperly.
6. Radiator hose failure (collapsed hoses).
7. Engine fan failure.
