DESCRIPTION:
This code sets when the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) outlet temperature is greater than 760°C (1400°F) for more that two seconds.
MONITORED PARAMETER:
Diesel particulate filter outlet temperature sensor.
TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
Always on
MONITOR SEQUENCE:
None
EXECUTION FREQUENCY:
Continuous when enabling conditions are met.
TYPICAL DURATION:
Two seconds
DASH LAMPS:
1. CEL
2. MIL
ENGINE REACTION:
25% Derate
VERIFICATION:
Parked regeneration
NOTE: If any other codes are active fix those first.
PROBABLE CAUSES:
1. DPF outlet temperature sensor.
2. DPF outlet temperature sensor connector/harness.
3. Failed injector/cylinder on one of the cylinders.
4. Failed DOC.
5. Failed DOC sensor.
6. Remove the Aftertreatment Device (DPF) and inspect for signs of soot. If present, find source (charge air cooler, EGR valve, turbocharger, intake throttle valve, exhaust pipe leaks, delta P sensor failure).
7. Failed DPF.
