Detroit DD13 EPA07 (2007-09) Fault Code: SPN 174 FMI 4 (MCM) Supply Fuel Temperature Sensor Short to Ground

DESCRIPTION:
This fault code sets when the motor control module (MCM) detects a short to ground on the supply fuel temperature circuit.

MONITORED PARAMETER:
Fuel temperature sensor.

TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
Always enabled

MONITOR SEQUENCE:
None

EXECUTION FREQUENCY:
Always enabled

TYPICAL DURATION:
Two seconds

DASH LAMPS:
1. MIL
2. CEL

VERIFICATION:
Engine idle: One minute.

NOTE: If any cooling system codes present, fix this first.

PROBABLE CAUSES:
1. Fuel temperature sensor.
2. Fuel temperature sensor connector/harness.
